Formerly known as Candy Hoover, a large family-owned Italian group, where I was Group CFO and Director of Legal Affairs, directly reporting to the Group CEO.After the acquisition by the Chinese multinational Haier Smart Home (January 2019), I have been confirmed as Group CFO of the whole Haier Europe, responsible for Accounting and Consolidation, FP&A, Treasury, Tax and Credit Management, Internal Control, as well as for the Post Merger Finance Integration project, leading a team of +200 professionals and executives in Italy and abroad (including all local CFOs and their teams).Alongside the usual duties of this role, I have been responsible for some key strategical projects (e.g. M&A projects, reshaping of the group financial structure, redesign of the intercompany flows and related tax consequences, implementation of new EPM tools, restructuring of a huge Pension Fund deficit, etc.) and I played a key role in the disposal of Candy Hoover to Haier Smart Home, giving my solid contribution to the selection of the strategic partner, to the management of the data room and the due diligence process, to the negotiation and execution of the deal (closing executed in January 2019), being as well as responsible for the post-acquisition integration project.

Reporting to the Group CEO and supported by a structured team in Italy and abroad (more than 75 people, including all local CFOs and their teams), I was responsible for the management of a complex relation with the banking system, for the research of strategic alternatives for the group and for the redefinition of the key processes related to administration and accounting, finance and treasury, planning and control and credit management. I was also in charge of the Legal Department, managing an internal team together with a composite panel of external lawyers and consultants.I finally played a key role in the disposal of the group to a US multinational, giving my solid contribution to the selection of the strategic partner, to the management of the dataroom and the due diligence process, to the negotiation and execution of the deal (closing executed in May 2016) as well as to the post-acquisition integration project.

Reporting directly to the shareholder and managing a team of more than 20 people, I contributed to the business development strategies primarily by (a) redesigning the planning and control and industrial control tools and processes, (b) providing advice for several projects aimed at the engineering and construction of bioethanol plants in USA, Italy, Brasil, China, (c) managing more effectively the treasury activities and forecasts and (d) searching new financial resources needed to finance operations and R&D projects.

After having been appointed Project Leader of the challenging Refinancing and Capital Increase Project which impacted the whole Maire group, I held the responsibility of the coordination of all activities, negotiations and relations with banks, financial advisors, lawyers, auditors and the market regulators, together with managing the Independent Business Review and due diligence processes, as well as the preparation of the formal Prospectus required for the capital increase. The project was successfully completed in July 2013 with a capital increase of 150M€, new credit lines granted by the banks and a significant loan rescheduling from short to medium/long term.
