Chief Investment Officer and head of Pension Fund Management, a division of the Treasurer's Office that is responsible for policy and strategic planning, implementation and supervision of the investment programs of the $20 billion Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds.

Served as interim team leader of fixed income at McMorgan, an asset management boutique owned by New York Life Investment Management and focused on the market for Taft Hartley health and welfare plans.

Directed investment strategy, asset management and research for a broad set of diverse investment activities at Hartford Investment Management Company. Hartford Investment Management Company is the asset management subsidiary of The Hartford with $150B in assets under management as of 12/07. Initially head of all fixed income sector teams. Most recently responsible for leading teams investing in structured credit (ABS and CMBS), private placements, commercial real estate mortgages, private equity/mezzanine debt, bank loans, municipals, and quantitative equity strategies. Co-chaired the firm's Investment Strategy Committee. Clients included pension plans, foundations and endowments, mutual funds, and insurance companies. Managed over 70 investment professionals.

Developed investment policy and strategy for $20B general account portfolio in support of group health, group life and group pension businesses. Directed portfolio management, research and trading for $15B fixed income portfolio, including investment grade and high-yield corporate bonds and CMBS, emerging market debt, MBS, ABS, and municipals. Directed asset/liability management function; developed and managed credit and market risk management systems. Managed 17 investment professionals.
