About Marcelo Tesón
I am a filmmaker, instructor, and videographer with over 2 decades' experience in film and video production, and education. As a sound editor I worked on several prime-time television shows and movies, and was nominated twice for an MPSE Golden Reel Award. In 2010 I moved to Austin, TX and began a new career as a film instructor for Creative Action. I spent 6 years at Del Valle Middle School and Valley View Elementary School before founding the Creative Action Youth Cinema Collective, a program for high school students who want to create films in community with one another. Our films have been screened across the country, and the program won a SXSW Community Award in 2018. Over 100 young people from Austin have benefitted from YCC, and many have continued on to study film as a career across the country.I am currently in post-production on my first feature film, "Touchy-Feely," which I wrote and directed in the first half of 2022.
