Diversified customer base by establishing key client relationships in commercial/military aerospace, deep water and offshore drilling, and helicopter markets. Led 250+ employees and $35M budget.Accomplishments:Turned around six troubled programs. Arriving at EDO, discovered six programs were in trouble, with five behind schedule. The business was losing money. Established client centric approach to probe and understand situational needs and effects. Incorporated analytic metrics, hired program leaders and a technical team. Completed projects, boosting revenue to $10M and profits by 10% in two years Transformed production program, doubling revenue. A key program for Boeing at EDO was just breaking even and under intense competitive pressure. Initiated lean, visual metrics and 5S efforts, reducing material and part travel costs by 60%, fabrication expenses by 18%, and rework by 16%. Renewed contract, doubling revenue from $3.5M to $7M.Indentified new market opportunities, garnering short term revenue. EDO was experiencing a downturn in oil and gas deepwater platform business. Established short-term goal clarity and associated responsibilities, initiated brainstorming effort and leveraged existing capability to serve petrochemical/marine vessel markets. Generated additional $3M over two years.Salvaged troubled acquisition. Started acquisition process at EDO for composites company, turning over to business team for completion. Six months into process, negotiations broke down. Rejoined process, building on initial relationships. Addressed key issues, brought parties to the table, and merger was completed successfully.
