My story (so far):I was born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I love most things about Sri Lanka and everything about being Sri Lankan. After 22 years of being an islander, I thought it was time for a change. So, I packed my bags and flew 10,000 miles across the world to come to the State of Georgia.Currently I work as a research analyst for the SBDC (Small Business Development Center) – a non-profit organization that provides free consultation to small businesses. A big part of my job is to measure and help improve the economic impact that SBDC is making across the state of Georgia, and I like to think my work helps keep American dreams alive. Before working at SBDC, I worked as a data analyst at a private equity consulting firm called Stax. I truly enjoy working with data and telling interesting stories worth hearing. I aspire to be a full stack data scientist (apparently, that's a thing) and I’m working towards that goal whenever I get some free time. Ever since I took a Machine Learning course as an undergrad, I have been passionate about data science and how it can truly change the trajectory of an organization, and even the world. I am and will always be a fan of cricket and rugby – two sports that will certainly increase my blood pressure in the long run, especially when my two favorite teams are playing – Sri Lanka Cricket and the All Blacks. I like to cook, write, and contemplate life for an unhealthy amount of time every day (i.e. philosophy).
