I manage the legacy SDi and IBO teams that produce syndicated and custom market research on the analytical and life science instrumentation industry. Much of our market reports, newsletters, and custom project content comes from secondary research, but we also work with our primary research teams within SMG to produce a comprehensive picture of the market landscape.

I manage the SDi and IBO teams. Historically based in Los Angeles, the team now spans the US time zones. I help guide our team of analysts and editors through all our projects, whether they are part of our publication schedule or confidential projects for specific clients. I still get to pitch in on projects when I'm the resident expert, and have more of a hand on custom projects that involve the SDi team, either with or without any coordination with the quant/qual research team in the larger organization.

Starting January 1, my duties have expanded a bit to a leadership role encompassing all of SDi's publishing projects and custom secondary research.

Currently, my main focus is on leading our team in secondary market research activities for laboratory instrumentation and associated areas (security, diagnostics, process tools, bioprocessing, etc.).This secondary research supports many projects throughout the business of BioInformatics, from published market research reports from our SDi division, to our newsletter Instrument Business Outlook, to our primary research efforts for publications and proprietary projects.Proprietary projects run the gamut from custom market sizing and growth, to assessing the market potential for new products, to M&A support in identifying and evaluating target candidates.

I oversee SDi's custom consulting projects. In addition to managing projects and teams, I often contribute as a consultant on these projects. Seekers Unlimited was a non-profit organization devoted to fostering education through the use of interactive experiences and role-playing.As a member of the board, I helped direct the mission of Seekers Unlimited, outlining our vision, setting goals, determining policies, managing fundraising, and communicating with the executives.In July 2013, I was elected Treasurer, adding additional responsibilities.In 2015, the Board voted to dissolve the organization.
