As the Search Architect I enhanced and improved both performance and features of the Search & Learn capabilities for Skillport (tagging, knowledge-center cordoning, entitlements) by modifying existing SQL infrastructure code and writing new Java APIs and support methods for the UI team. Created and certified the Skillsoft solution for the SCORM 1.2 standard and the SCORM 2004 standard for content delivery and reporting. Specified guidelines for video-authoring solutions to control bandwidth delivery costs. Estimated network bandwidth usage needs. Reduced production deploy time by identifying copy-change improvements. Worked with player team to defined Java-Free web-browser solutions.

Designed, built and tested a robust scalable presence tracking engine for an early IM integration product. Key features of the presence engine included “substitutes” to call when the desired person wasn’t available. Integrated third party software (Sametime, PresentationPro) and systems analysis to improve system performance. Created a framework for nightly batch processing and SQL report generation for cost accounting.

Created new XML-based infrastructure that dramatically reduced integration and testing of new trading partner agreements for a small start-up company in the B2B technology area, The work included development of multi-threaded monitoring tools and display applets as well as modifying JSP pages to facilitate demonstration of system capabilities.
