As of the 9th January I will be joining the Fortescue Future Industries - Green Fleet team as the Advanced Manufacturing Manager, leading the Manufacturing Stratigies for the Green Fleet suite of projects. I have been working with Fortescue for some time now under contract and the projects that are on the table and the projects still under the table are exciting, challenging and exceptionally worth the effort required to breing them to life. It has been an interesting journey since I left Vietnam and I would like to thank all of those I have worked with over the last 18 months as your assistance has lead me to being offered a truly exceptional opportunity to manufacture products that will have a positive outcome for the environment, both in Australia and Globally.Time to realise the plans Fortescue Future Industries have in place and deliver something exceptional.

Working with University of South Australia, Polaris Centre, Manufacturing Technologies Centre and SME’s within the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide, my initial role was to research what services a University could provide in order to attract SME’s to seek assistance from the University of South Australia. Commencing in 2017 my role is now to develop a process where SME’s are provided with General Engineering Services by student of the university in order to provide real life industry experience to the student involved and to provide beneficial service to the Industry Partner. Changes to the Engineering curriculum that are identified as part of the service delivery are to be fed back into the curriculum refinement process in order to assist with the development education of Engineers that aligns with the needs of industry. In support of the SME Engineering Support Service, the existing equipment available to students and Industry is being reviewed and recommendations for upgrades are being identified.

Provision Project Management and Engineering Services on a consultancy basis to Manufacturing and Power Generations sectors

Established in 2018, Edison Projects Australia (EPA) is an integrator/manufacturer of high density, simple, safe, energy generation and storage solutions. EPA was established to research and develop rapidly deployable energy capture and storage solutions for communities with unstable and unreliable power grids customers looking for portable power solutions through to high end Defence applications.My role is to lead the Manufacturing and Quality side of EPA's business as well as establish the Product Development process we will deploy that needs to efficiently deliver products for all customers bases.EPA is committed to establishing a culturally diverse, gender balanced team that will play a part in bringing Sovereign Manufacturing back to Australia in the rapidly growing Renewable’s sector. This will be a reward but challenging period for both EPA and myself.

Vinfast ais driving the process of establishing an Automotive Sector to support its Vehicle Assembly Plant located Hai Phong, Vietnam. Working with local and International suppliers, my role is to identify and support potential industry partners to localise their operations into Vietnam.

VinFast is part of the Vin Group in Vietnam. They are embarking on a fast passed delivery of three all new automobiles that are to be assembled in Haiphong Vietnam on a Green Field site. My role is to provide Planning and Project Management support to the project.

Support of a Managing Risk course which is a mandatory component of the Master Degree in Project Management

Project Site Lead for the Upgrade of the West End Brewery. The West End Brewery has not had any significant upgrade for almost 15 years. The Work Packages of the Hyde Park Project I managed fully automated the Fermentation and Maturation Processes, introduced Cross Flow Beer Filtration system into a purpose built Filtration Room and delivered a Bulk Chemical Handling facility to support the Breweries needs both now and into the future. This work occurred with little disruption to the production schedules at the Brewery over an 18 month period.Working in an environment where the site has existed as a Brewery for over 100 years with its many alterations has been a rewarding challenge to meet but the success of the Project in the early commissioning process will lay the foundations for the West End site to take its place a a key component in the Lion Supply Chain. My part in making this happen is an immense source of personal satisfaction.

The role at the Adelaide Desalination Plant involves representing SA Water's interests as the Project Sponsor and interaction with the Prime Contractor. The role focuses on the identification and investigation of Quality issues but also includes assessment of as built conditions to determine the compliance to relevant standards and to the contractor's contractual obligation

Supportin the GM Thailand Manufacturing Department install and commission a new conveyance system required to introduce the new Colarado Sport Utility into the GM Thailand plant. Support the GM Thailand Quality and Production personnel with the issues raised during the launch of the new Colarado.

Development and implementation of a pathway of projects with an automotive theme. The projects are to be completed by secondary school students with the aim of increasing the uptake of STEM (Science Technology Science and Maths) subjects in year 12. Engage industry in NAMIG Concept to Creation projects and encourage participation.

Responsible for the management and guidance of a Department 19 Engineers and Technicians. Development of initial cost estimations and negotiation of approved budget for Projects that were required to build new vehicle programs. Technical Lead in negotiating Contracts and provision of the required Contract Management Development of the required Project Implementation Providing input to vehicle design to ensure the finished product met Manufacturing requirements. Design, installation and commissioning of all building modifications, equipment, and toolingSupport of Production departments on an ongoing basis. Duties encompassed development of the team structure and setting of targets and goals.AchievementsSafety -As a member the Plant Safety Review Board representing Manufacturing Engineering site wide, was able to close out a back log of Safety Buyout's which had been outstanding for greater than 12 months. Utilising the existing Safety Buyoff Process the number of outstanding issues was reduced from 108 to 0 in a three month period..

Manufacturing Lead, working as part of a Cross Functional team empowered to develop and implement both the VE Utility and Sportwagon programs.AchievementsWorked in the advanced program development stage of the above vehicle programs, to determine the product demanded by customers. Feedback from existing customers supplemented by analysis of market trends were used to develop program core requirements that could be effectively delivered within the existing time and manpower constraints. Structural costs were reduced as compared to models that were being superseded as a direct result of vehicle design.Development of a Project Implementation Plans that encompassed the requirements for updates/revisions to the Elizabeth Assembly. Successfully implemented the VE Ute program into production whilst meeting or exceeding all targets. Handed over Sportwagon program during final implementation phase with no major issues being raised.During the Implementation phase, responsible for communicating the program requirements to the various departments involved to ensure required departmental alignment was achieved and milestones were clear. Utilising a combination of formal and informal communication able to maintain appropriate priority on programs with no significant modification to timing plan.Budget requirements were met by close monitoring of spending and continual value engineering in order to indentify cost savings and process improvements.; Implemented the VE Ute program meeting or exceeding all Program targets with a significant reduction in operator sprains and strains as compared to previous model.

As part of the development of a new manufacturing facility in Rayong Thailand, selected at one of two GM Holden employees to work in GM Opel headquarters in the development of the GM Thailand assembly plant. GM Opel was charged with responsibility of designing the plant where as GM Holden was to take on the ongoing support once the plant was commissioned.Able to effectively deal with cross cultural and potential language issues between German and Thai members of the development team by developing an understanding of the different cultures. Was able to act as a moderator when required, smoothing the path when cultural differences created issues that were neither productive nor conducive to team work.Contributed to the recruitment and training of the entire work force for the plant. Working with the Director of Quality and drawing on previous quality experience, was able to attract Thai Nationals to accept management positions. Several of the GM Thailand Managers who were recruited remain employees of GM to this day, which in Thai business culture is a rare achievement.
