Rugby CareerMatt moved to Canberra in 2007 to play with the ACT Brumbies. In his 9 seasons in Canberra, he was capped 89 times for the Brumbies. Matt then moved overseas to play for English Rugby Powerhouse, the Leicester Tigers for 3 seasons before again returning to Australia. He then spent 3 seasons at the Melbourne Rebels, and is currently playing his trade in Japan for the Mitsubishi Dynaboars. During his career, Matt was capped for the Australian Wallabies 59 times, and played in two Rugby World Cups (2015/2019), including a RWC final. Matt has held leadership roles in all his teams, including captaining the Leicester Tigers and the Melbourne Rebels, and a Vice-Captain of the Wallabies.Matt was also President of the Rugby Union Players Association (RUPA) from 2020-2022, where he guided the playing group through the extremely challenging Covid Pandemic period.Academic AchievementsMatt completed his schooling at Brisbane State High School in 2007. During his professional sporting career, Matt has also managed to complete his Graduate Certificate in Business, Graduate Diploma in Business and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA - Logistics and Supply Chain Management) at the Australian Institute of Business. Business PortfolioIn 2014 Matt became a Co-Owner of the Two Before Ten Cafe Group based in Canberra. He has seen the company grown from a single store and a Roastery to over 13 stores in the ACT. He is also an active member of Athletic Ventures Investment Group and Five Ventures Investments.
