Contract with AT&T Cybersecurity to conduct threat analysis of IDS alerts for suspicious or malicious activity and notify customers of my analysis using established tools and capabilities. Conducted Wireshark analysis of suspicious events. Ensured compliance with NIST 800-53 System and Information Integrity. Analyzed DDoS alerts, notified customers and performed DDoS mitigation activities. Protected multiple US government entities against nation state affiliated threat actors, most notably KillNet.Designated Lead Engineer for premium DDoS implementation and maintenance for US federal agencies. Collaborated with customer technical and leadership personnel to advise on the DDoS threat landscape and provided service recommendations to ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 System and Communication Protection.Recognized by sales and senior leadership for outstanding technical and professional skills in responding to a DDoS attack against a healthcare organization. Quickly analyzed the attack vector being used and assisted the customer with applying the appropriate countermeasures which resulted in minimal downtime.

Collaborated with internal network security and endpoint protection teams to implement new security tools such as secure cloud internet access and EDR solutions. Successfully integrated these solutions to enhance and simplify the organization’s network security design.Reviewed threat intelligence and SIEM logs with security analysts to block outbound connections to malicious root domains outside the United States.Conducted and reviewed Nessus vulnerability scans for critical CVEs and advised on remediation steps, resulting in an improved security posture for the organization.Evaluated and implemented an average of three firewall change requests a week, enhancing the security of the organization while meeting organizational need.

Supplied customers with complex technical solutions to network security requirements through design and implementation of DDoS mitigation, cloud firewall, IPsec Tunnels, and mobile VPN products. Design and configure the requested solution on Lumen’s managed security equipment such as Fortinet firewalls, Arbor and Radware DDoS mitigation systems. Conducted detailed technical interviews with customer leadership and technical specialists to ensure reception of accurate data needed to enable successful implementation of desired solutions to include resolving questions about product capabilities. Lead the development of procedures to implement the new security features such as IPv6 DDoS mitigation by training and mentoring 4 associates in IPv6 DDoS mitigation implementation and activation procedures.Designed and implemented python scripts to automatically build firewall and DDoS mitigation system configurations, which led to a significant decrease in time between order entry and activation.

Assisted customers with resolving technical issues with their services as a member of a higher tier technical assistance group in the Technical Service Center. Troubleshot and resolved BGP routing issues across the internet and or Multiple Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network in a complex ecosystem of multiple types of networking equipment, including Juniper, Nokia, and Cisco routers and switches for hundreds of customers such as CNBC, Bank of America, and Coca-Cola.Monitored the phone system and ticketing queue for incoming customer service requests to modify existing services or troubleshoot down or degraded circuits, averaging 20 resolved customer issues a week.Investigated reported issues by evaluating and analyzing system logs and configurations. Maintained constant communication with the customer by providing hourly status reports and estimated time on restoration of service.
