About Mika Rantanen
I'm a skilled software developer. I have done programming professionally as my full-time job for more than ten years but programming has been my hobby much longer. I started with Commodore 64 in the late 80's.During the years, I have used numerous languages and frameworks. The language that I have used the most is C++ which I have been using more than 15 years. I especially like C++ when it is accompanied by Qt. Nevertheless, I have recently started to use more and more JavaScript and Node.js. I also have a good knowledge of C# and Java.At work I have programmed and maintained fairly large applications. Typically, those have been developed for Windows using C++ and Qt. I have been developing software for both industrial and home use. In free time, I'm particularly interested in game development and related algorithms and methods.I received my PhD in Computer Science in 2014. My doctoral dissertation concentrated on motion planning. The algorithms that I studied can be used to find collision-free paths for robots, game characters or other objects that move in complex 3D environments.
