I run the 60-person+ global product organization (Product Management, Product UX and Design, and Product Analytics) at Samsung Ads. We build the products that give our clients access to the Samsung advertising ecosystem. This includes the Samsung DSP and Samsung SSP, as well as our DMP, audience capabilities, and Samsung ad products.

Routable is a B2B payments company, specializing in AP automation and mass payouts. I ran and scaled the product management team, including implementing product development processes needed to operate in a product team model.

I run the product management team that oversees all of AppNexus’ publisher products. This role includes strategic, financial, and roadmap planning, product development, maintenance, and commercialization of new products.

Prebid.org is an independent organization promoting fair, transparent, and effective header bidding. Based off of Prebid.js, the wildly popular open source header bidding wrapper originally created by AppNexus, Prebid.org works with a wide variety of companies. As the first chairperson, I worked closely with the Board of Directors to make sure they the organization is well run and set up for success. Now, I'm happily just another board member, supporting my colleagues in operating Prebid as an independent organization.

I run a small, Horizon 3 team to define, create, ship, sell, and manage new and upcoming products focused on helping customers benefit from their mobile data at scale.Our first product is Urban Airship Connect, launched in late September of 2015. Urban Airship Connect is a real-time streaming API that provides our customers with direct access to everything that happens in their mobile apps and, in addition to that, provides pre-built "open omnichannel" connectors to bring mobile data to every part of their business.

Urban Airship is a SaaS startup that provides mobile services to companies with mobile apps. We're the leader in mobile engagement, and Forrester recently showed that we provide an 878% ROI. Our offerings include:* the most powerful and feature-rich platform for sending push notifications, in-app messages, and rich messages on smartphone apps* the Engagement Platform, which gives our customers the ability to easily compose and automate messaging, and brings mobile messaging directly into their daily workflows* Wallet Studio, which makes it incredibly simple to manage programs for Apple Wallet (formerly Passbook) and Android Wallet* Urban Airship Connect, a real-time streaming API and pre-built integrations to take mobile data to every part of your businessI was one of four cofounders, and the one who came up with the name Urban Airship.

I managed the Product department and reported directly to our SVP of Product and Engineering.In this position, I managed headcount, career ladders, performance, and product roadmaps for the Urban Airship product team.I directly managed the Product Management and Design organizations, and during my time also started a Customer Research and R&D team.We shipped four major releases, addressing both long-standing feature requests and new and improved mobile capabilities for our customers. This was in addition to innumerable ongoing feature enhancements and bug fixes.I was responsible for close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success in ensuring that the roadmap addressed their needs and gave us a strong position relative to our competitors and what was possible in the market. I also worked directly with strategic customers and partners.

Went to the UK to work closely with our Managing Director to start, staff, and run the Urban Airship EMEA office. I was hands-on with the sales team, training them and doing direct selling with that team. I was also responsible for customer success for our early customers and made sure that they were able to effectively integrate and get up and running with our product. This office has seen dramatic success.

Projects focused on digital identity and the open stack. Did primarily backend development and prototyping in Python, but also worked on HTML, CSS, javascript, deployment and infrastructure (including server setup and maintenance, database management and design, scaling, and load test-ing). Involved in all aspects of decision making around products. Helped to bring Agile processes to the company.

Sole developer for a political consulting company. Transitioned the company away from legacy Movable Type to a Django-based system that allows for easy deployment of new sites with feature sets determined on the fly. Responsibilities included HTML, CSS and javascript work as well as backend development. Clients ranged from local labor commissioners to United States Senators and Governors.

Worked closely with the office staff and the Commissioner to renovate the office blog and transfer it from TypePad to Drupal. Attended technology-related conferences as a representative of the Commissioner. Advised the Commissioner and his staff on technology-related issues. Advocated for open source technologies where possible. Wrote speeches and other publications for the Commissioner or his staff.
