Personal Statement"My lifelong quest for knowledge in science and my compassion for people were the basis of my interest in Medicine as a career. I was first attracted to Radiology as a Specialty due to the amazing technologies continuously emerging, utilized to diagnose and treat patients. Interventional Radiology introduced me to procedures that enabled me to really make a difference in the lives of my patients, with the benefits of increased patient comfort and shortened hospital stays. My goal in interacting with each patient or exam that I see is to give the same level of concern and care that I would want for myself or my family."BioDr. Mark Stephan, a Lafayette, LA native, is a graduate of USL and LSU Medical School at New Orleans. He served his internship and Radiology Residency at The Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, serving as Chief Resident in 1985-1986. Dr. Stephan subsequently trained as a Fellow in Interventional Radiology at University of Texas/M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He has been engaged in the private practice of radiology in the Greater Lafayette area for the past 25 years. Dr. Stephan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and has been granted Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology, and is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology. He has served as a board member of MedicineLouisiana and has served as Vice-President and President of the Radiological Society of Louisiana, a Chapter of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Stephan has appeared in the Best Doctors in America Database since 1996 and Louisiana Life's Top Doctors database since 2006.
