I am an undergraduate from Penn State University, with a completed Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology. I have been conducting independent study projects under the supervision of faculty mentors since August 2020, focusing on assessing the toxicity and mode of action of various test substances using cell-based assays. I have developed core competencies in data analysis, micropipette, and incubation, as well as good laboratory practices and responsible conduct of research.As an independent study student, I have worked with different cell lines, such as Hep G2, murine PPAR, and human PPAR, and performed various assays, such as Live Cell Multiplex and Cell Titer Glo, to measure the effects of test substances on cell viability, proliferation, and gene expression. I have also completed data analysis using Excel and GraphPad Prism, and presented my findings in oral and written reports. Through these projects, I have demonstrated my passion for pharmacology and toxicology, my curiosity and creativity in solving scientific problems, and my ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with my mentors and peers. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to contribute to the advancement of drug discovery and development, and to learn from the diverse and experienced team of pharmacologists and toxicologists at your organization.
