As a Senior Change Analyst, I am responsible for the progression of a portfolio of changes to the BSC. This requires close collaboration with both colleagues providing subject expertise and stakeholders from across the industry acting as a critical friend. I am responsible for my own workload, and plan key project milestones to avoid confliction. I foster positive relationships with key industry contacts to manage expectations and determine steps to prevent further delays. As an expert in the BSC governance processes, I work on a variety of changes and am able to quickly gain a working knowledge of a detailed process in order to lead on the change. Although I did not act as a subject expert in this role, I was often able to use my knowledge of BSC processes to support the development of proposals and challenged assumptions to ensure that solutions were complete and robust.

In this role, I was often the first point of contact for numerous potential entrants to the GB electricity market. I was responsible for liaising with entrants to provide detailed yet succinct overview of the market arrangements, Elexon’s position in the market and the requirements that would need satisfying in order to enter the market.The main focus of my role was providing support and guidance to the numerous entrants completing the market entry steps, being aware of parties’ progression and regularly catching up to avoid unnecessary delays. In addition to this, I often supported colleagues from other areas of the business, both with market entry guidance and wider support with wider BSC activities.In addition to the Market Entry responsibilities, I also took on the role of Operational Support Manager for some active participants. This meant acting as the primary point of contact for the participants, either responding to or coordinating responses to day-to-day queries, aiding with monitoring performance standards and managing the professional relationship and expectations of the market participants.
