Research/Thesis: Modeling the Residual Useful Life of Railroad Bearing Grease• Worked on a project for the UTCRS under a $54,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation• Contributed design of experiment which consisted of monitoring four-bearing testers and gathering experimental variables which were used to create a database that was used as a basis for predictive empirical model• Generated MATLAB (C++ based) codes and programmed functions that could accurately analyze data that predicted remaining useful life of lubricant under multivariable conditions• Researched previously performed experiments and publications in order to establish an understanding of lubrication material properties, industry needs, and additional information pertaining to the project• Supported the UTCRS team in additional projects that dealt with the implementation of railroad bearing adapters modified for onboard, real-time, safety monitoring applications• The research performed for this project has resulted in national conference papers and presentations as well as a Master’s ThesisUNIVERSITY
