Muckraker Strategies is a woman-owned media relations firm whose current and former clients include Democratic candidates, elected officials, labor unions and advocacy groups spanning six states and the District of Columbia. Muckraker was founded by Katie Baker following her tenure as the communications director at both the Virginia House Democratic Caucus and the Democratic Party of Virginia in 2017, when Democrats made historic gains that included the pick-up of 15 seats in the House of Delegates. Katie boasts more than a decade of experience in government and campaigns, including work at the federal, state, and local levels and on both the hard and IE sides. Her background is in research and her passion is communications, but she has also served as a field director and campaign manager. Katie is a licensed Ohio attorney and holds degrees from Amherst College and William and Mary Law School.
