In last 22 years I have managed different roles and put on various hats, chased dreams and gone against the tide, ditched corporate life to become an entrepreneur, went back to University to do an MBA, published my first book of poems, and returned to the corporate life. Presently, I am leading the procurement and warehousing functions @ Jaquar. Throughout these exciting years I have continued to learn new skills and expand my comfort zone.At the start of my career I worked in various industries – media, banking and internet - in order to learn different skills and develop a broader perspective about business. During these initial years, as the geographical area of my responsibilities grew, I developed skills in consumer marketing, channel management, team management, training and new business development.After few years in corporate world, I joined like-minded people to set up an e-commerce venture. Here I learned new skills, such as pricing, business analysis, customer service and online catalogue management. Managing multiple variables & projects, implementing plans, dealing with highs & lows - some of the things I did, almost, on a daily basis - helped me grow as a professional.In the midst of growing a business, I also realised the importance of personal growth. Not only did I revisit my dormant interest of reading books, but also start new ones – poetry and blogging. Maintaining a blog helped me improve both, written communication skills and ability to express my ideas. I have also taken out time to travel around the world. Visiting countries in 5 continents, interacting with different people and experiencing local cultures have contributed to my global mindset.
