I am one of the founding partners of FAR Avocats. I have been working in international dispute settlement for twenty years, and have represented States as counsel and advocate on numerous occasions before international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as before arbitral tribunals constituted under Chapter VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and ad hoc arbitral tribunals. I have also represented investors in investor-State disputes before ICSID tribunals and before tribunals operating under the UNCITRAL Rules.Previously, I worked in the International Arbitration and Public International Law Group of a leading international law firm. I also assisted Professeur Alain Pellet. I have deep knowledge of public international law and a strong academic background. I studied law in Germany and in France. After having specialised in public international law at the Université Paris Nanterre, I started a PhD programme under the double supervision of Professors Alain Pellet in Nanterre and Christian Tomuschat in Berlin. I successfully defended by PhD thesis on the subject “The protection of shareholders in international law”. I have published extensively in leading journals and edited collective books on numerous topics of public international law, European law and international dispute settlement. I teach international law, investment law and arbitration, and European law in different Master programs at the Université d’Angers, the Université Paris Nanterre, the Université Toulouse I Capitole, and Science Po Paris.
