The Maritime Centre for African Dance (MCAD), formed in 2005, is an organization dedicated to teaching, sharing and promoting African Culture though the art of dance, to youth and adults across Nova Scotia and Canada. To date, MCAD has taught well over 700,0000 children, youth and adults in schools, community centres, camps, corporations and programs. This number is ever increasing. This organization was formed out of a necessity for lack of cultural representation in the form of african traditional dance in Canada. It is a collective of different individuals from Africa who have are trained in traditional dance and ranges from the South, North, West and East of Africa. To date, MCAD`s Fara Dance troupe has performed for various prestigous events including the African Inaugural Ball held in Washington DC for President Obama. This year MCAD Inc youth and adult troupes will be performing for the Canada Games 2011.With offices across the Maritimes, Ontario, British Columbia, Southern Africa, United Kingdom (2012), and most recently United States, MCAD Inc is fast becoming a Global brand.

The Danceoff, is Canada's free style hip hop competition, for ALL ages, ages 4 and up. A subsidiary of MCAD Inc, the Danceoff is currently being held in Atlantic Canada and Ontario. For more details, email admin@mcafricancamps.com
