The “Patients’ Gala” was an event designed to recognize the genuine efforts of those daring to lead patients in their fight for a better life and contribute to the emergence of new leaders. Awards were given by “popular vote” and “jury vote”. Jury members included society leaders, diplomats, policymakers. The competition mechanism generated approx. 30K votes for the patients’ projects submitted for review and entailed the exposure of high level jury members to the patients’ issues.
