I reported with Drs. Moinul Hossain,Prof. Shamim Momtaz,M. Zakir Hossain , Shankar Biswas ,Zahir, Mr.Kabirul Islam Khan and others on MRI and PET-CT images comparing previous scans upto 24 June,2016.

I tried to talk with patients/relatives and compare the past reports and latest images of PET-CT, MRI and finalize the reports as soon as possible upto 24 June,2016. Recently we are sending PET patients to NINMAS-BSMMU

History-taking and examining the selected patients clinically, by USG and hormone assays.Follow-ups are being done in various types of patients from home and abroad (Australia,UK,USA,Singapur,Italy,Netherland,Thailand,India etc.) including hemospermia(bloody semen), consummation failure of a male(age 28y) due to mild hypothyroidism(TSH4), obesity with pseudo-Cushing(improved by metformin,ketoconazole,dexamethasone suppression test 5 days),hirsutism with high TSH(23) and low FT4, fatty liver, thyroiditis, hyperuricemia, postponed angiography in a patient with DM, colonic polyp and CKD,avoided pacemaker in a thyrotoxic DM patient,weekly dose of thyroxine(TSH 7to4) in hypothyroidism (primary and central),Hurhle cell neoplasm, thyroid crisis/storm with carbimazole 15mg TDS, propranolol 10mg BD to 40mg TDS and i.v. fluids, various cancers,Uromax D &bitter/water melon in BPH,bilateral renal calculi post-lithotripsy follow-ups,habitual abortions including Turner`s syndrome in abortus, primary and secondary infertility.

I attended the World Health Day on 7Apr., 2016 as special guest speaker and stressed on thyroid diseases especially prevention and early diagnosis.

Reported the Xray films including polydactyly sent by Dr. Reja upto Sept. 11,2015.

I used to perform ultrasound including liver abscess, anencephaly, corrected missed twin elsewhere in 1st & 2nd trimester, avoided operation in a pregnant patient with bicornuate uterus who was misdiagnosed as tubal ectopic at first.

I started the Bangladesh Institute of Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound Research(BIMDUR), organized, arranged lectures on imaging and examined the free patients including teenage pregnancy.

I used to perform ultrasound including suspected appendicitis , esophagitis,slow gastric emptying,ovarian cyst etc.on call.

I used to perform ultrasound on call and detected interesting cases including testicular tumor, hydrocele, liver abscess and cousin-love.

I used to report on X-rays including contrast studies ,mammograms , performed ultrasound scans in the afternoons and free consultation for thyroid patients.

I reviewed the books on ultrasound, positron emission tomography(PET) and thyroid medicine and conducted the examinations of postgraduate doctors of Bangladesh Institute of Thyroid Medicine and Imaging Research(BITMIR).

I delivered lectures on ultrasound and conducted exams Skype on call.

I planned the maternity hospital after Dr. Sk. Motiur Rahman left TMSS Masuda Maternity Hospital, trained the doctors about ultrasonography including pregnancy,abortions, breast,testis,thyroid gland,whole abdomen, and led a medical team to take part in rescuing Rana Plaza victims of Savar, Dhaka.

I used to teach, consult and advise the doctors and patients as well as report selected ultrasound including sonomammography following failed homeo-therapy outside and X-rays in the evenings and holidays.

I delivered two lectures to postgraduate diploma doctors on diagnostic ultrasound.

We developed the curriculum of geriatrics for the first time in Bangladesh comparing UK, USA and other countries with stress on thyroid problems and time spent for elders.

I conducted classes, exams and examined the free patients of USG and thyroid on Fridays.

I met Mr. Y. Amano, DG of IAEA during his visit of INMU , conducted follow-ups of I-131 therapy patients with Dr.Faridul Alam, admission of trainee doctors, classes and exams of M.Phil. in nuclear medicine , guided neonatal screening and clinical research works on adult hypothyroidism in menopause with post-graduate students e.g.Dr. Farhana Taz M.Phil.

I reported USG on Fridays only in the first scanner of this rural district(owners:Drs. Salima Rahman & Jakiul Islam Faruqi), noted interesting cases e.g.infantile/hypoplastic/rudimentary uterus,self-limiting unilateral pre-pubertal thelarche(early breast development at age 7y), spontaneous resolution of cholecysto-enteric fistula and arranged the treatment of a thyrotoxic orphan girl of Al-Nahyan Shishu Paribar including carbimazole and radioiodine therapy from CNMU Rangpur and follow-ups presented in the .ASEAN J Radiology 1999.

I started the first ultrasound scanner(owner:Dr.M.A. Sobhan) of this Upa-zilla(Sub-district),treated hemospermia, noted stump appendicitis(BJU Dec.,2008), self-treatment of uterine prolapse, and published some interesting cases in the ASEAN Journal of Radiology e.g. about foreign body(paddy) in vagina of a 2-year old girl, appendicitis during pregnancy(Bangladesh Journal of Ultrasonography June 2007 vol.14 number1) etc.

I joined on request from Col.Dr. M.A.Hakim and performed USG and reported Xrays in the afternoon and evening brought by Ms. Tahera.

I taught the teachers about IDD and AIDS, attended a regional IAEA course on MPS(myocardial perfusion scintigraphy) in Manila(1999), had a scientific IAEA visit in Melbourne(2000) covering quality assurance & PET, presented a paper on cost-effectiveness of ultrasound in appendicitis in AIUM(2001), took part in CRP of IAEA & JHU(2003-07), avoided surgery in a patient with ectopic lingual thyroid, treated two rural patients of thyroid crisis(storm) with I-131,noted leech in urinary bladder, biliary ascariasis in a pregnant medical student , huge retroperitoneal cyst causing transient renal obstruction(BJU vol.15 no.2 Dec.2008), started low-dose radioiodine therapy in isotope scarcity crisis, treated various types of thyroid diseases including hemi-agenesis presented as nodular goitre(Asia-Oceania Journal of Radiology), thyroid cancer of adults and children,also during pregnancy & lactation, detected lactation failure due to mild hypothyroidism, started RN-HSG, gamma camera,water diuresis renogram, water as echo-contrast for gastric emptying,noted liver abscess mimicking cancer, imaging of fetal and neonatal hydronephrosis in collaboration with Dr.Yusuf DCH, Dr.Qamrunnahar Lipi, Dr. Rezaul Islam MS(Ped. Surgery), Dr. Baharul Elem FRCS, Prof. Laik Ahmed Khan and started radioassays of T3, T4 & TSH in Rangpur. I attended IAEA Fellowship for 3months(Aug. to Nov.2006) in the Royal Free Hospital, London,UK , published few papers and guided many doctors including Dr. Mirza Nazrul Islam in his thyro-cardiac research and Dr. Alison D.Gernand(2008-10) to complete their Ph.D.theses on fetal-maternal nutrition by measuring CRL by ultrasound on pregnant women in first trimester(J Health Pop Nutr Oct.2016) in rural Bangladesh(Gaibandha).

I used to recite the Holy Quran, Sirazum Munira etc. in Baitul Mukarram,talk on various topics including fruits of Bangladesh,prevention of iodine deficiency disorders(IDD),thyroid diseases, cancer , basic ultrasound ,bad effects of tobacco and nuclear medicine.

It was a joint co-ordinated research project on IUGR using stable isotope deuterium dilution for total body water done by Dr.Anura Kurpad, bioelectric impedance(single and multi-frequency) analysis by Prof Dr..K.P.West Jr .Dr.,A.Labrique Dr.,K.Schultze of Johns Hopkins University(USA).During 2nd RCM in University of Stellenbosch,Tygerberg we visited Roben island and the nuclear medicine dept of Cape Town Hospital (South Africa) also.The final report(Vienna,2007) indicated that early intervention in first trimester is prudent.

I taught the imams(religious leaders), noted hypopituitary hypogonadism(Kallmann syndrome) and started USG, noted renal hydatid confused with splenomegaly (JIMA,1996,ASEAN J Rad. 2006),pregnancy with ascites and radioassays of thyroid-related hormones including filter-paper collection of umbilical cord blood sample for neonatal screening of congenital hypothyroidism, thyroxine treatment and I-131 therapy for the first time in the rural northern Bangladesh.

We reported USG in the weekends only in the first scanner(owners:Drs. Omar Faruq,M.Mujibur Rahman,Khalilur Rahman,A.K.Azad) of northern Bangladesh , treated and also followed-up a lady thyrotoxic patient by I-131 brought from NMC Dinajpur.

Bantle,Mayo Clinic group including Dr.Mrinal K.Dewanjee and others, published Radioiodine therapy of thyrotoxicosis in JIMA 1991-92 and Thyroid cancer in the Phillippines Journal of Nuclear Medicine 2003.

I was working in nuclear medicine(thyroid studies,hippuran probe renogram, static and dynamic brain scans, liver scan, bone scans, beta-therapy of pterygium, I-131 therapy in thyroid diseases etc.) noted lithium-induced goitre , exposure keratitis due to thyrotoxicosis with normal-sized thyroid gland and ultrasound(abdomen, thyroid, breast and scrotum) under the guidances of Prof. Dr. Kamaluddin Ahmed,Dr. Brian Seaton, Ms. Elizabeth Varga,Mr.Gerard van Herk,Mr. Bergmann, Dr.H.A.Khan, Dr. Fawzia Moslem,Dr. Lutfun Nisa & Dr. Ferdous Ara(Mitul) . I attended a radio-talk, an international course on non-invasive techniques in heart and lungs diseases at Mumbai,India(Dec.,1981), a certificate course in ASNT covering isotopes,ultrasound & magnetic resonance, listened to a lecture on facts and artifacts of ultrasound by Dr. Ken J.W. Taylor , met Drs. Basil Hetzel(1922-), C. J. Eastman, Glen Maberly, Josephine Wiseman(Royal North Shore Hosp.),Jack Jellins,George Kossoff(Ultrasonic Inst.regarding octoson and portable sonoranger),, Saxon White (Royal Newcastle Hosp.) and a post-course attachment in the Dept. of Nuc Med & Ultrasound in the Westmead Centre,NSW, Australia under the guidances of Dr. E.F.Crocker (pioneer of small parts ultrasound), Dr. A.G.Walker and Dr.J.E.Arnold in 1982 .

With the help of my parents we published `Lathir Kasrat` and `Bayamer Chart` written by Ostad Sirajul Haq Chowdhury as a guide to gymnastics and folk-literature.We collected and distributed herbal medicines like ulatkombol(Abroma augusta) free of cost.
