Qara Rosa is the beginning of the second-generation Samba scene in Singapore.Fusing eclectic beats and mesmerizing performance elements, this initiative seeks to blend the traditional form of Samba music with new-age showmanship.Qara Rosa translates to ‘black rose’, a symbol of change with an eye to the future. It inspires confidence and enthusiasm by signalling the birth of a new era of hope and joy through our work.Bursting out of the blocks, Qara Rosa opened Viva O Samba 2019, Singapore’s biggest Samba festival, which featured the likes of MOTUS, SAmbiesta, New Stream Brass Band, and SMU Samba Masala.
