In this role, I supervise the writing of tests, exams, or assignments by students with documented disabilities who are registered with AccessAbility Services at the University of Toronto Scarborough. I also prepare exam spaces and set up accommodations (eg: Kurzweil 3000, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, WordQ etc.) to ensure an efficient sign-in process for students, while maintaining confidentiality and academic integrity.

In this role, I answer virtual text messages from service users with suicidal ideation and help them de-escalate through rapport building, active listening, and safety planning. I also provide resources to service users experiencing mental distress and respond to ongoing suicide attempts and child abuse with an active rescue, while categorizing each interaction appropriately by filling out call reports.

In this role, I oversaw a team of two coodinators to ensure that the team of first responders at the emergency medical response group was well equipped with medical gear and personal protective equipment in order to adequately respond to medical, trauma and mental health calls. I also built relationships with community suppliers to order team uniforms and end-of-the-year gifts for a team of 50+ responders. As well, I worked with my team to perform inventory checks, restock responder bags, and prepare quarterly updates to present to our executive director.

University Of Toronto Scarborough

Emergency Medical Reponse Group is a student led volunteer club at the University of Toronto Scarborough providing first aid and medical assistance to students, faculty, and visitors. As a volunteer first responder, I respond to medical emergencies on campus. To do so, I attend weekly trainings and monthly in-services to ensure sharp first aid, CPR, BLS and EFR skills. As well, I run with spinal immobilization equipment, oxygen tanks, and first aid and trauma supplies to initiate life-saving patient care until paramedics arrive on scene.

As well, I develop and implement strategies aiming to promote the organization’s mission and values, and also create and establish team protocols, financial impact reports, executive strategies and business plans for the organization to achieve goals and objectives set by the board of directors.

In this role, I prepared weekly worksheets to lead study groups for three courses at the University of Toronto Scarborough: Advanced Data Analysis in Psychology (PSYC08), Introduction to Health Studies I (HLTA02) and Introduction to Clinical, Development, Personality, and Social Psychology (PSYA02).
