Muhammad is an experienced engineer and manager in the defense and aerospace industry. He is currently a Senior Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin. He recently completed his masters at Carnegie Mellon University in Data Analytics and Management as a Cognizant Trust and Safety Scholar. Muhammad holds dual bachelors in Computer Science and Mathematics from the City University of New York Lehman College. In recent years, Muhammad has participated in high research environments and developed pilots for government initiatives. Prior to this masters, he worked as a C#/.NET Software Engineer focusing on DevSecOps, and as a Scrum Master for L3Harris Technologies. Following that he was a researcher at the AirLab, where he used image processing and machine learning to identify subsurface corrosion on aircrafts using UAVs, aiding the lab to win a USAF grant.In addition, Muhammad is a proponent of public interest technology. He was a Product Manager for the NYC Mayor’s Office of Economic Opportunity where he piloted MyFile NYC in partnership with New America’s Digital Impact and Governance Initiative. Afterwards he worked at the Office of Technology and Innovation on Smart Cities and IoT projects.He was selected for the highly competitive Coding it Forward Civic Digital Fellowship where he worked for the US Census Bureau’s Center for Behavioral Methods working with statisticians, demographers, and surveying methodologists leveraging Natural Language Processing to analyze the efficacy of phone calls received. Lastly, he has research experience in signal and speech processing studying the loss of hearing using machine learning at ProHealth, Indiana University Bloomington.
