Below are the details of my experience at Teresol:Kubernetes Cluster Management:I have configured and managed Kubernetes clusters of over 200 nodes of different environments for the Core Banking System of one of our client, Bank Al Habib. This includes setting up the cluster for high availability, ensuring smooth scaling, and optimizing resource usage.Microservices Migration:Currently, I am involved in migrating Bank Al Habib’s Core Banking System from a monolithic architecture to microservices. So far, we've successfully migrated half of the system’s modules, including CRM, CIM, FSM, Frontend, and Import/Export services. This migration has involved extensive use of Kubernetes for container orchestration and service management.Service Mesh and Ingress Management:In our Kubernetes environment, we utilize Istio as the service mesh for microservice communication, ensuring secure and reliable service-to-service interactions. For ingress management, we rely on Traefik, which acts as our API gateway and load balancer.Networking, Storage Solutions:I have experience with Metallb for load balancing across Kubernetes clusters and Longhorn for persistent storage volumes. Additionally, Calico is used as the CNI (Container Network Interface) plugin to handle networking across the microservices.Logging, Monitoring:We leverage the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) for logging and Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting. These tools provide deep insights into the health and performance of our applications, allowing us to proactively address issues.Docker Swarm Administration:In parallel, I manage several Docker Swarm environments that interact with the PSW (Pakistan Single Window) system for Bank Al Habib. These environments host various critical services such as Kafka, Kong Gateway, and MySQL.CI/CD Pipeline:I have implemented and managed CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab, with Harbor acting as our private container registry.
