Heading Operations of Bank Alfalah Limited in Afghanistan. Responsibilities include day to day smooth operations of Bank in Afghanistan. It is full fledged banking operation with two conventional banking branches and one sub unit of Islamic Banking in Afghanistan. Operations which were facing continued efficiency challenges in terms of value and process that has been turned into most efficient segment. Now it has sound deposit & profit base and No. 1 foreign bank here. Bank Alfalah is solely managing transactions / cash management to effect payment to vendors of Allied / US forces in Afghanistan as a ground partner of world renowned International bank. Bank has been given highest CAMEL rating by Central Bank of Afghanistan. Also supervise Risk Management, Compliance, Human Resources, IT, Finance, Treasury Back Office, Reconciliation, Dispute Resolution, Administration & Branches operations which are in direct reporting line of Country Operations Head. Member of ALCO, Steering Committee, Expense Control & Review Committee & Country Credit Committee. Achievement at Afghanistan: Internal Audit rating of operations was improved from previous “Unsatisfactory” to “Satisfactory”. Central Bank Audit Rating improved to "1" - Best Camel Rating any bank has in Afghanistan. Profitability of operations was increased by more than 5 times in 2010that witnessed further growth in 2011 & 2012. Effectively persuaded and complied Central Bank policy for reduction of expat staff to minimum approved level. Played pivotal role in developing relation with world's largest, foremost, and most prominent international organization by offering a unique banking solution as ground partner of one of renowned bank. Solution includes setting up limited service branch, offsite ATM's and cash deliveries across Afghanistan. Success came after series of town halls, conference calls, meetings & presentations. Established first Islamic Banking Branch of Bank Alfalah in Multan Region. Effectively created awareness of Islamic Banking products & explored potential clients that helped in attaining breakeven within four months of branch operations. Successfully marketed Islamic Banking products to the customers and developed sound and profitable asset base of branch with appropriate mix of Corporate, Commercial, SME and consumer banking customers and that turned branch into a profit earning unit since very first year of its operations. Developed sound credit portfolio (as a result of processing, approving, product development & marketing of Islamic Banking products) ranging from micro to corporate, commodity financing to project lending. Prudent lending resulted in minimum delinquency ratio (of less than 1%). Branch Operations comprised of Corporate Credit, Consumer Finance, Trade Finance & Consumer Banking. Managed excellent customer services and branch environment which resulted in consistent “Excellent” rating in Service Quality Audit of branch. Liaison / Coordination with Islamic Banking Group for network expansion in Multan, Mailsi, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Kot Addu etc. Achievements:- Established first Islamic Banking branch of Bank Alfalah in area and developed system and created awareness which resulted in opening of five more branches in the area.- Groomed / trained branch staff in effective manner that resulted in career progression of staff who attained higher positions (including Branch Managers and Manager Operations) - Branch always achieved its profitability target & operations were rated “Satisfactory’ by internal audit

Bank Alfalah does business through a network of 471 branches across 163 cities in Pakistan. It has international presence in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain and a representative office in the UAE.Established Area Office, Multan as key member of team and played instrumental role in forming systems and procedures for smooth functioning of newly established Area office. Overall supervision of operations of 14 branches of Area. Network expansion/ planning. Identification of suitable cities, areas and sites for new branches and negotiation and finalization of lease / sale agreements. Liaison with Contractors, Architects and Head Office regarding construction of branch premises. Member – Area Credit Committee. Branches were having credit exposure in different segments like Solvent, Ginning, Flour Mills, Fertilizers, Trading, Public, Private and Government Sector etc. Liaison with SBP and Internal Auditors during audit of branches. Review of Audit Reports of branches for assessment and necessary support / guideline to the branches. Achievements:- Establishment of Area Office being part of its founder team.- Timely completion of network expansion plan and identification of new cities for opening of branches. Successful network expansion of branches (from four to fifteen branches in short span of 1 ½ year) in the region.

Bank AL Habib Limited is sponsored by DAWOOD HABIB GROUP which has a long track record in banking which dates back to the 1920's. It was among the founder members of Habib Bank. At present Bank Al Habib has network of 398 branches. Had experience of setting up & opening of new branch as Branch Manager. Was the first MTO (Management Trainee Officer) of Bank AlHabib to become Branch Manager. Explored potential clients and successfully marketed customers and developed sound and profitable asset & deposit base of branch which resulted in making the branch a profit unit within three months of its operations. Effective Supervision of Branch Operations relating to Trade Finance & Consumer Banking resulted in Satisfactory internal audit ratings of branch. Extensive training at Bank AlHabib Training Centre, Karachi for six month (on the job as well as classroom) from renowned bankers including Dr. Asrar H. Siddiqui helped in persuading sound banking career. Achievements:- First Management Trainee Officer to become Branch Manager- Turned branch into profitability in first year of its operations
