Anti-Corrosive Magnesium AlloysGovt. Degree College Chichawatni Jul 2014 - Oct 2014Uaf, PkMg- Al alloys is formed by Laser shock processing [LSP, metal covered by an absorbing coating (aluminium foil) and transparent constrained layer (water), is hit by a high power density (GW/cm2) short pulse (nanosecond) laser, coating technique. After the coating absorbs laser energy rapidly, ultimately forms a large number of dense high temperature (>10 K) high pressure (>1GPa)], is a surface engineering process has been regarded as a useful method to improve mechanical properties of materials. Research work was conducted for corrosion behaviour. On basis of current analysis, LSP can play a significant role in improving surface anti-corrosion; therefore there is far more necessary research space to be filled. It is proposed that LSP is a promising technique for enhancing cold & hot corrosion resistance of Mg alloys, especially for stress corrosion cracking, which will be very useful for practical applications in industries.

Pentaerythritol and vegetable oil arefirst heated with the catalyst for about two hours at 270oC. The vegetable oil is an ester of glycerol and long chain unsaturated fatty acids, and the reactonisa trans esterification, thefatty acids forming an ester with the polyhydroxy alcohol pentaerythritol. Di- and tri- estersof PE and di- and monoglycerides are alsopresumably formed. After cooling the mixture to150oC, a slight excess of phthalic anhydrideis added and the mixture is reheated to 240oC where it is held for several hours while the polyester alkyd resin is formed:

Mar 2014 - Apr 2015Uaf, PkRecovery of precious metals like gold, silver, palladium platinum etc. is interesting due to its high market prices along with various industrial applications. Conventional technologies viz. ion exchange, chemical binding, surface precipitation etc. which been have been developed for the recovery of such metals are not economically attractive. Biosorption represents a biotechnological innovation as well as a cost effective excellent tool for recovery of precious metals from aqueous solutions. A variety of biomaterials are known to bind the precious metals including algae, fungi, bacteria actinomycetes, yeast etc. along with some biopolymers and biowaste materials.The metal binding mechanism , as well as the parameters influencing the uptake of precious metals and isotherm modeling are presented. This article provides an overview of past achievements and present scenario of biosorption studies carried out on the use of some promising biosorbents which could serve as an economical means for recovering precious metals. The present review also highlights the use of biosorbents in real situations and hopes to provide insights into this research frontier.

CH3OH is good fuel. It can be reduced to LiAlH4/P to methane gas.
