Coordination and Scrutiny of Budget.(i) To prepare Budget Estimates of Main Ministry.(ii) To scrutinize Budget Estimates of following Departments subordinate to this Ministry.(a) Directorate General, Ports and Shipping Wing, Karachi(b) Mercantile Marine Department Karachi(c) Government Shipping Office Karachi(d) Pakistan Marine Academy.(e) Gwadar Port Authority(f) Marine Fisheries Department(2) To coordinate with MTBF Secretariat (Budget Wing) and to distribute Indicative Budget Ceiling received from MTBF among all departments according to their requirements.(3) Cases pertain to Foreign Exchange cover. (4) To Scrutinize and get approval from PAO of Budget estimates in respect of Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim Authority.(5) To scrutinize and process for approval of all proposals regarding re-appropriation of funds.(6) Scrutiny of estimates pertaining to revenue receipts of all Departments subordinate to this Ministry i.e.(i) Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA).(ii) Mercantile Marine Department (MMD).(iii) Government Shipping Officer (GSO).(iv) Marine Fisheries Department.(7) To coordinate the Internal Audit of the Ministry and its subordinate Departments and incorporate the result of these inspections in the form of an Inspection Report and submit it to Principal Accounting Officer.(8) Work relating to Public Accounts Committee, Departmental Accounts Committee and Audit observations on Appropriation Accounts and Audit Reports in respect of all organizations and other Departments of the Ministry.(9) To tender advice in the delegated field. (10) Financial Cases pertained to IMO Coordinator and IMO contribution.Moreover:-Key tasks also performed during last 6 years are budgeting, submitting fund requisitions, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with financial regulations, monitoring fund utilization, and implementing internal controls. Furthermore, verifying payment requests, executing authorized payments through various channels, maintaining comprehensive records, reconciling disbursement records, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial transactions, and complying with government financial rules and regulations.
