With tertiary qualifications in Business Management and Total Quality Management, I have over 10 years of experience in developing, implementing and managing primary health and Aboriginal Health programs spanning the states of Queensland and Victoria. The Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organizations I worked for provided me with a greater understanding of the issues surrounding the health and wellbeing of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. During this time, I have come to recognise the challenges involved in developing and implementing health programs as well as the importance of the resources including funding streams made available under Closing the Gap framework. Thus, I am confident in my ability to address these challenging areas and utilise available resources in order to help these programs achieve their objectives. In addition to operations and quality management, which I practiced from the onset of my career, the experience I have gained through executive management roles during the last eight years have enabled me to develop expertise in the areas of strategic management, human resource management, capacity building, and change management.
