I were engaged since the concept development stage of FbF/FbA in Bangladesh; Major achievements:- Developed method for identifying forecast-triggered early actions, and applied this method in community consultations for both flood and cyclone in Bangladesh;•Significantly contributed to the development of Early Action Protocol (EAP) for flood and cyclone areas in Bangladesh. Successfully tested the EAP for flood and cyclone. •With the project team, developed fast beneficiary selection process appropriate for FbF Project•Provided leadership for successful implementation EAP/SOP for both flood and cyclone•Contributed to developing the second phase of the FbF Project.•Assisted the Project Delegate with monitoring tools design and develop questionnaire. •Providing necessary support and guidance to the develop communication materials for the projectMy responsibilities include:•Acting as the deputy to the Project Delegate in all elements of project management•Implementing project activities in line with the project proposal agreed with donors, partners and ensuring compliance with the policy of IFRC and GRC;•Leading project procurement and provide guidance to construction related procurement of GRC;•Establish and maintain coordination with Government and other stakeholders.•Organizing and facilitating training, workshop with participants from Government, BDRCS and partners;•Providing necessary guidance and support to the project team for successful completion of their task•Preparing interim reports, developing project proposals, and preparing project documents.•Providing training and orientation to the project staff and volunteers on data collection, cash distribution center management.•Regular presentation of the FbF approach, learning and challenges in national and international forums on climate change and disaster risk reduction.

My roles for the project were:•Managed construction of a two storied Maternity and Child Health (MCH) cum flood shelter at Tetulia of Tala Upazilla and a one storied MCH cum cyclone shelter at Horinagar of Shyamnagar Upazilla under Satkhira District. •Designed and implemented construction of household shelters in Hatiya Island of Noakhali district•Organized and facilitated meetings with BDRCS, construction and consultant company and centre management committee of the MCH Centre•Facilitated training on construction of household shelter for the staffs and volunteers •Supervised technical staff, focusing on motivationDuring this project period, I supported an additional ECHO supported project:•Designed household shelters, latrines and tube-wells for the ECHO funded project on Hatiya Island of Bangladesh. •Led procurement of the above items.•Provided training and orientation of the project staff, masons and carpenters on quality control and construction techniques for shelter, latrines and tube-wells.

Dhaka

•Contributed to developing an emergency response project proposal and budget•Led implementation of project activities, monitoring and evaluation. •Designed and developed shelter and household latrines for in a water logging-prone area of Jessore district, southwest Bangladesh, jointly with Engineers from the NARRI consortium.•Ensured quality of construction materials and shelter works as per design and specification•Strengthened the capacity of project engineers and masons to construct core shelters and latrines •Designed and provided technical guidance for, and supported installation of, deep tube-wells and school latrine blocks in haor (marshland) as well as bathing corners, toilet and flood information and resource center in char (island) area of Sirajgnonj district. •Facilitated PEER (Preparedness for Effective Emergency Response) training for management level staff of Concern’s partner NGOs.

•Led implementation of WASH, shelter and livelihood activities in Koyra upazila, and WASH and shelter activities in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira District, including monitoring partner NGO progress•Provided technical guidance and support to construction of transitional shelters as per design, and enhancing capacity of project engineers and masons for shelter construction through on job training. •Designed and led installation of deep-tubewells, pond sand filters, household based rainwater harvesting systems, and emergency / household latrines. •Supported and guided partners in implementing school and community level hygiene promotional activities e.g. child to child approach, painting and essay competitions, hygiene awareness sessions, courtyard meetings •Represented Oxfam in meetings and maintained coordination with local administration, Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), NGOs and other stakeholders. •Wrote progress reports, case stories, lesson learned and recommendations, etc.

Lalmatia, Dhaka

•Led participatory planning for implementation of project activities involving NGO Forum and partner NGO staff, and ensured that implementation followed planning.•Oversaw construction of low cost water supply technologies e.g. rain water harvesting systems, dug wells, Shallow Hand Tube Well (SHTW) etc. •Established village sanitation centre to diffuse sanitation technologies in local areas.•Organized and facilitated training to strengthen capacity of field engineers and partner NGOs staff. •Closely reviewed partner NGO work progress and supported them in implementation of the project activities according to plan.•Field visits (Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachari) to check the appropriateness of the selected site for construction of water supply technology as well as ensure quality of construction works.•Periodic progress report writing.

Barisal

• Led the NGO Forum Barisal-based team consisting of 3 Project Engineers and 3 Program Organizers.• Prepared the annual and semi-annual project implementation plan collaboratively with the staff and 11 partner NGOs, and ensured execution of the plan accordingly.• Designed deep tubewells and ensured proper installation of 22 deep tubewells in 11 upazilas of Barisal, Bhola and Patuakhali districts.• Ensured that expenses matched budgeted allocation; checked bill vouchers of all activities implemented by partner NGOs.• Strengthened capacity of partner NGO staff through formal training, coaching, and orientation for proper installation of tubewells as well as hygiene promotion activities.
