As the Procurement Manager, my duties were to forecast what was to be sold for the quarter achieving over 80% average on forecasting accuracy, ranging the stock that was to be sold by analyzing market trends, understanding what the market wanted as well as being able read the markets and which direction it was headed. Ordering the stock for the warehouse, ensuring the pricing was correct, deliveries were done on time as well as the correct quantities. Managing the stock in the warehouse, working with the distribution team to ensure orders were sent out, which was prioritized, stock counts were correct and stock rotation to ensure stock turns with an average of 1.8 - 2 turns a month across the multiple brands that were sold. I was involved in the design and building of the various websites, making sure the best deals were advertised on the websites as well as on social media. I assisted the sales teams with training on the various products, key selling points on what we were selling as well to make targets. I assisted customer services and the QA departments with their queries and getting them resolved within the required time. I worked on the financials with our business partners, negotiated contract terms and credit facilities with extensions where required. This role was used internally as well assisting the finance department to ensure we received correct payments. Some of projects I was involved in was shifting the direction of the business to drive sales, increase activations, reduce returns and increase revenue in the telco space. I was part of the team involved in building a new CRM system with internal developers as well as a new stock system with an external company. I was also part of the team who brought MR Price Mobile to life and also consulted for them via Ignition Group assisting with their stock requirements, forecasts and dealing with vendors.

In this role, I learnt about Procurement by managing the Procurement for the call centers who were our business partners as well as our own retail outlets. Within the retail space, I used to procure the stock and manage the the distribution within our stores, managing the stock on hand as well as the stock rotation within the stores and the warehouse. For the call centers I managed the stock in the warehouse, over stocks, stock outages as well as redundant stock. I was involved in what was to be advertised in newspaper adverts as well as our advertising booklet and flyers which were distributed.

As the Area Franchise Manager, I had Franchisees throughout Durban and the surrounding areas that I looked after. My role was to train the franchisees on the products being sold, how to sell and to assist them grow their business. This was a challenging role yet very fulfilling to see the sales increase month on month
