A simulator technician is responsible for the performance of maintenance and reliability tests on the equipment that is used to calibrate aero and space craft. Specifically the technician must perform Morning Readiness, Preventative Maintenance and visual alignment on all training devices. The technician must also calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot all training devices. Implementation of design changes and other technical hardware change requests may be necessary.The simulator technician works under the direction of a supervising senior technician and must comply with all standards and regulations set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).A simulator technician must have excellent interpersonal communication and analytical skills. An ability to analyze test results and technical data is necessary for the drafting of technical reports. Knowledge of pre- and post-flight routine checkups is an imperative part of the job function and is a requirement of Quality Control procedures. Technicians must also be proficient in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
