My major responsibilities include the following: Preparation of Annual Budget and profit forecasts on periodic basis along with Departmental Budgets. Preparation of Strategic Budgets & projections and supervising external reporting to Regulators (SECP/SBP/MUFAP). Liaise with External & Internal Auditors, Legal and Tax consultants. Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliances of the Company.  Supervising Monthly Management reporting and sharing insights with Top Management from value addition perspective. Responsible for and supervise monthly, half yearly and annual closing. Supervising FBR & SRB Return filing, Tax Audits conducted by FBR & SRB and ensure other Tax related compliances.  Managing Funds and Investments as per policy of the Company and directives of Senior Management. Responsible for Policy making and suggesting improvements in the existing processes of the Company.

Serving as Manager in Corporate Taxation & Payables DepartmentMy major responsibilities include the following: Controlling & monitoring accounts payable of the company and ensure compliance of company’s & regional procurement policy. Lead complete transition of PTP department and deployment of various new tools in Pakistan along with regional reporting.  Review of vendor and employee advances’ ageing and facilitating Provident and Gratuity Fund audits & related activities.  Close monitoring of submission of Income Tax withholding challans from customers and their appropriate recording in SAP GLs.  Review of quarterly advance tax workings and timely payment of the tax liability arrived there at. Responsible for managing stay orders from High courts against various recovery and other coercive notices issued by FBR. Review of withholdings on account of Income Tax & Sales Tax from vendor payments and their timely submission to Govt. Treasury. Liaison with Tax Advisor in response to notices received from Tax Authorities and facilitating Tax Audits. Ensure timely preparation and submission of Income Tax Returns of DHL Pakistan and its parent companies. Management of S2B portal for secured online payments/fund transfers and resolution of discrepancies encountered. Review of PTP CRISP controls and ensure their compliance in line with DHL’s global SOPs and gathering related evidences.

Served as Manager in Treasury DepartmentMy major responsibilities included the following: Monitoring of daily liquidity position, management and placement of excessive funds of the company with an objective to optimize return. Responsible for managing over draft facilities, corporate cards with regional treasury and local banks along with facilitation of import related activities such as LC opening and open account payments. Managing funds transfers, bank contracts/guarantees, inward and outward remittances, forex rate negotiations, and customized solutions for cash and cheque banking. Preparation and review of monthly bank reconciliations of bank accounts with SAP GLs. Managing relationships with banks, lessors and other potential stake holders. Monthly payroll processing, review of final settlements and transfer of salaries to employees via S2B system, and timely deposit of withholding taxes deducted thereon to government exchequer. Advising senior management to reduce tax burden by availing tax rebates prescribed in local tax laws. Managing matters related to commercial and non-commercial Ijarah / Leases across the country. Providing assistance to external and internal auditors for smooth execution of audits. Facilitation of fixed assets count across the country and alignment of fixed asset register as per TR-6 issued by ICAP. Assisting in drafting board resolutions relating to authorized signatories and ensure its compliance. Preparation and dissemination of petty cash policies and procedures along with review of petty cash disbursements and certificates.

My major responsibilities included the following: Management of both financial and operational audits; identification of opportunities for improvements and recommendation of corrective measures to process owners; resulting in process improvements and operational efficiencies. Identification of significant business and audit risk areas by understanding clients’ business model and evaluation of the identified risks and devising audit strategy to mitigate those risks. Setup overall audit strategy and prepared detailed audit plans to conduct audits in accordance with KPMG audit methodology. Evaluation of design and operating effectiveness of manual and automated internal controls through walkthroughs and control testing. Compiled and reviewed Financial Statements (interim and annual) of various clients and ensured that these are prepared in accordance with applicable financial reporting framework such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local corporate laws and directives of regulatory authorities; Preparation of value added deliverables such as audit report, representation letter, management letter and covering letter for clients. Engagement planning based on the understanding of the client’s business processes and assessment of business and audit risks, supervision of the engagement, review and finalisation, including close liaison with client's management; Review and supervision of working papers of audit team members before presenting it for review of manager and partner. Conducting assignments relating to code of corporate governance and other regulatory compliances. Managed client relationships, for both publicly listed and privately held clients and trained and supervised a team of professionals through coaching and mentoring.
