I led the selection of study areas and mapped stakeholders and GBV survivors within the state, utilizing research methodologies to ensure targeted data collection. I successfully recruited and trained a team of field staff to engage with respondents and stakeholders in the identified study areas, focusing on gathering critical data related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV). I coordinated engagements with key policymakers, religious, and traditional leaders to assess the existing GBV preparedness and response mechanisms and conducted a comprehensive desk review of relevant policies and documentation available in the state on GBV.I coordinated the facilitation of key informant interviews and focus group discussions to evaluate the state's performance in GBV prevention and response. My analysis of the collected data resulted in a detailed report that highlighted strengths and gaps in GBV response. This report contributed significantly to the sub-national assessment of GBV prevention and response under the Womanity Index, showcasing the state’s progress and areas needing improvement.

I played a crucial role in establishing and fortifying the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system for the Kano Breakthrough Action-Nigeria (BA-N) office, aligning it with the project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) plan. The efforts extended to developing an M&E guide specific to Tuberculosis interventions in Kano, encompassing clear protocols for data elements, target setting, reporting, and performance monitoring plans. As a lead, I actively oversaw the entire data lifecycle, from collection and collation to storage, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the data's high quality and suitability for audits. My commitment to supporting program reports' preparation and review in collaboration with program staff reflected a holistic approach to program management.In addition to these responsibilities, I took charge of managing research activities, ensuring that the outcomes and lessons learned were seamlessly integrated into the project and shared with relevant stakeholders. This multifaceted role included providing training and mentoring to both partners

I played a pivotal role in strengthening the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) capabilities within the Local Government Area (LGA) Primary Health Care (PHC) M&E unit. Through consistent engagement and capacity-building initiatives, there has been a notable enhancement in the utilization of data for effective decision-making. The collaborative efforts included co-leading routine monitoring visits to project sites, focusing on data verification, validation, and Data Quality Assessments (DQAs). Over time, these activities significantly improved the completeness, consistency, and validity of routine data. Moreover, I actively supported the capacity building of State and LGA M&E personnel in utilizing the District Health Information System (DHIS) for various purposes, including data validation, entry, analysis, interpretation, and presentations for decision-making.

I played a pivotal role in coordinating project monitoring and evaluation plans, ensuring data collection, analysis, and reporting were conducted effectively. I actively participated in state Monitoring and Evaluation meetings and technical working group sessions to enhance the SUBEB M&E systems. My efforts extended to facilitating knowledge-sharing initiatives related to evaluation protocols and data procedures, leading to the institutionalization of the RANA M&E system for accurate monitoring and analysis within SUBEB. Additionally, I supported state-level research activities and ensured the quality implementation of project activities through regular supervision and mentoring of field staff, contributing to the improvement of the education system's quality.Furthermore, I was instrumental in strengthening learning and adaptation in the focal state by conducting state quarterly and annual M&E review meetings with key education stakeholders. My responsibilities included preparing and sharing activity performance analyses/reports, coordinating data collection using electronic devices, and providing technical support.

In this role, I excelled in tracking project activities and supporting staff to ensure smooth implementation, effectively bridging any gaps encountered. Additionally, I played a crucial role in monitoring local technical assistants and LGA M&Es, overseeing the retrieval and entry of state health facilities' data into the DHIS2 platform, thereby ensuring accurate data management and reporting.Furthermore, I demonstrated adeptness in supporting the Knowledge Manager in compiling and submitting comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual program progress reports, meeting DFID specifications. I contributed significantly to the management of state activities, with monthly and quarterly analyses informing strategic decision-making, and provided essential support in assembling information and data for presentations and project reports.
