As a current third-year medical student, I plan to pursue a career in primary care sports medicine and will be applying to family medicine residency programs this upcoming fall. Within my field, I am also particularly interested in nutrition, diabetes management, and behavioral health. Additionally, I have an educational background in English and Creative Writing. I have developed strong writing and editing skills that I continue to use when mentoring students, writing my blog, and being a part of a fantastic monthly poetry group. Having studied both English and Medicine, I regularly ponder the intersection between healthcare and the humanities. I believe that healthcare and the humanities are built on the same core commitments: empathy and communication. My goal is to work as a physician who, alongside serving patients, contributes to the fields of Narrative Medicine and Medical Humanities. I could see myself teaching or writing about this one day!
