My name is Muhammad Awan (he/him), and I am currently a Senior at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. I am studying Engineering at the Rutgers School of Engineering. I am an active member of Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honor Society). My Engineering course load has allowed me to develop a wide range of knowledge within numerous fields, both with Engineering (Civil, industrial, Packaging, Environmental, Computer, and Sustainability) and Non-Engineering (i.e. Human Resources, Supply Chain, High-level Mathematics and Physics, and Financial Accounting).I currently work at Rutgers Office of Advance Research Computing (OARC). At OARC, I deal with High-Performance Computing (HPC) and help provide Rutgers researchers with essential computing through our centralized resources and services. My interest in HPC has led me to attend the annual IEEE/ACM Supercomputing Conference (SC) in the last two years. Thankfully, I was invited to SC21, SC22, and SC23 by IEEE under Student Volunteer Program. At SC, I had the opportunity to represent Rutgers University with OARC to give HPC-powered demonstrations. Currently, I’m looking for professional development and internship experiences to hone the diverse skill set of a more effective leader.In my free time, I enjoy Philanthropy and Community Service. I volunteer my time at my local EMS squad. On campus, I am a part of United Mission Relief (UMR) and the American Preventive Screening & Education Association (APSEA); These are both student-run, non-profit organizations advocating humanitarianism.
