A 100,000 BPSD Crude Oil Refining Unit being set-up through relocation of an existing oil refinery of M/s. Petro-Canada after refurbishment of existing equipment and addition of new equipment. The refinery is to process imported crude oil to produce hydrocarbon fuels such as LPG, Naphtha based solvents, Diesel, Pitch and Sulphur as by products. The project is in the phase of erection, installation & implementation. My responsibilities are to look after, administrate & control finance and accounting activities of the company including Budgeting, Accounts and Book Keeping as per laws prevailing in the country.

I had joined the project in initial stages of implementation as Operations Officer. In January '97 promoted to work as Assistant Manager, Operations. In July, 1997 was given additional designation of Assistant Manager Finance/Accounts. My scope of responsibilities was to look after:-- Dealing with Banks and DFIs for all matters including initial communication, project appraisal, legal documentation, disbursement of funds and their repayments and rescheduling. Also, dealt with State Bank of Pakistan relating registration of Contracts for Supply of Foreign Machinery and their repayment schedules.- Handle and control the preparation and finalization of Accounts in consultation with the Management as well as with the Auditors.- Dealing with Customs Authorities, KPT, KMC and other Government & Local Departments for clearance of plant, machinery and equipment.- Dealing with Local Machinery manufacturers and suppliers regarding finalization and supply of their respective machinery and equipment.

Since the project was in the implementation process my responsibilities were to deal with:-- Banks, DFIs and State Bank of Pakistan for all financial and legal matters related to the implementation of the project.- Local Manufacturers/Suppliers for finalization/supply of machinery and equipment.- Other firms and Companies for any other matter relating to the implementation of project.
