I am statistician and work as Data Engineer.Before It started I expected myself working in Health and envisioned myself as a doctor. In reality, the world prepared something else for me and become a statistician instead. Which always made me questioned, Did I do wrong? Is the place today isn't the place where I meant to be? Should I go back to study and take another chance? People always says "Nothing is too late", "It's never too late to follow our dream!".Introduced to statistics was totally unexpected to me. My Teacher suggested me to choose Statistics. Back in the day, I planned to take another path if I failed to become a doctor.Apparently, studied statistics wasn't that bad. Many semesters i went through, I finally interested the idea how statistics works. For convenience, what i understand, statistics teach us how to work with data. Before we do analysis, we observed the data and the problem required. It is not as simple as we choose one statistical methods out of many, execute the data, and give the result good looking data. We need to understand how the business works, how data could solved user problem, find the way to collect the data, after we collected we discuss "is it truly capable to solved users' problem?", and many more. So the way statistics works, what i found, is similar with doctor diagnosed their patient if it isn't the same. Doctor needs to understand the patient before gives the best way to cured, until medicine given to patient, and statistician needs to do business, data understanding until given the solution to user. The difference between these two is, if doctor works for patient, statistician works for data.Four years passed and I got my degree in statistics. Unfortunately, I don't reached my second dream yet and instead I become a Data Engineer. This way, what I am thinking, Data engineer is the first role who working on data before getting analysis by user, so it just my way to reach my dream or unless I might be find my reason to stay as Data Engineer. For the record, I would love to see myself as Data Scientist one day!I am person who always open to everything. People says, today is present, past is history, and future is mystery. We don't know our full capability yet, so give up is never an option. I always gratitude what i have today but always interested in other if there's coming to me. Probably, the "Nothing is too late" and "It's never too late to follow our dream!" back in the day when I questioned myself were actually told me that We have plenty of time to dare another dream and make it come true!
