Designed and implemented a wide number of new features for IO Service – a suite of software that provides communication support (such as TCP/IP, UDP, ARINC 429 etc) for a variety of helicopter cockpit MFDs. The features added include range checking support, enumeration support, bit-packed boolean support, positional configuration support and dynamic disabling of input/output messages. Thoroughly involved in every part of the software development process, including requirements capture, design, implementation and testing.Worked with two other engineers to develop a prototype application to do benchmark testing to compare the OpenGL graphics rendering performance of three different embedded platforms. Responsibilities included designing and implementing a typical navigation display page using OpenGL and Visual C++, and then porting the code over to a PowerPC processor running Lynx OS and equipped with a E2400 graphics card.Designed and developed support for TAC ID groups for the TSA application for the CTES 9.04 build. Used a combination of Ada and OpenGL to draw the user interface for adding/removing TAC Ids to and from a TAC ID group. Added support for modifying TAC ID groups (adding/editing/deleting), as well as saving and retrieving TAC ID groups information to and from NVM flash.

Responsibilities included designing the graphical user interface for configuring the object (such as setting the ranges for the X & Y axis, selecting pen color for drawing graphs etc) and implementing communication messages between the desktop application and the touch panel device.Worked on a development team to add support for the following new PLC drivers on the EZSeries TouchPanel product line: Animatics SmartMotor, Applied Motion SCL, Yaskawa Memobus Native Addressing, Baldor HostComms, Parker Hannifin Gemini. Responsibilities included designing the graphical user interface that enabled the user to configure the driver attributes as well as performing PLC address validation.Designed and developed a stand-alone C++ application to upgrade the firmware on the EZMarquee products over a serial connection.Designed and developed a stand-alone C# application to automate the configuration and testing of remote monitoring access and control cards. The application helped the production personnel to reduce a complex and involved procedure into a single click of a button.
