The opportunity of joining this company which is a leading plastic packaging products (bottles, cans, buckets, etc.) manufacturing company in Sri Lanka gave me a dynamic environment to improve my competencies in a challenging way.As the Factory Accountant, I am responsible for following duties, • Sales and delivery Approval upon monitoring & validating customer credit limits, account receivable, due payments & return cheques.• Customer and inventory database management, which includes creating customers, updating customer prices, terms, credit limits. Also creating items including BOM, machine routing and updating costs. And also leading monthly physical stock verification and inventory adjustments.• ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) implementation & coordination which includes attending system issues and reporting it and providing assistance/training to staff. Also I was leading the data entry team in the initial stage of ERP system implementation which we have completed successfully. And also I was providing assistance to system consultants to develop the processes and reports in line with FRD and to deploy it to the system.• Outsourcing contract management – Preparing, coordinating & arranging contracts includes releasing the raw materials and receiving the items upon completion of the contract.• Factory cash (5 floats) & bank account management – Preparing, coordinating & arranging supplier payments & some minor staff salary. Also cost allocation/classification of factory expenses.• Managing GRN, purchase & sales invoicing related issues.• Managing advance requisitions - Preparing, coordinating & arranging supplier payments as requested and settlement of advances.• Preparing management reports and presentations of finance, production, sales & marketing, logistics, maintenance & quality assurance departments.• Reporting & taking corrective actions on operational issues in the factory.

As the Assistant Manager my works includes; Preparing daily income & expenses account, assisting manager in managing cash inflows & outflows, Supervising & Assisting staff in day to day operational works, debt recovery from sub agents & attending customer service, IT & administration related issues.

During the period at Harcourts as cost assistant I was mainly managing the local and Import purchases and my responsibilities were included, • Procurement and inventory management• Demand/supply planning• Purchasing – Local and imports• product pricing and costing• Preparing cost-profit analysis reports I was also involved in ERP system (Bileeta) implementation of the company and my role in the team was similar to ERP coordinator which included preparation of User acceptance test reports, Backlog data entry and verification of purchasing, finance and sales departments and assessing where the system might go wrong.Further I have been responsible for preparing and auditing accounts of a division/segment of the company.Also I was responsible for entering debtor/subscriber details and cash, cheque and credit card receipts into the system of Multifit Gym; an associate company of the Harcourts group.
