Business Intelligence Analyst
Current● Metadata Analysis, Design, Development, and Distribution related (time spent: 30%):o Collaborate and facilitate metadata sessions with business, data stewards, and technical stakeholders from operational functions:o Work closely with IT counterparts: Assist in creating operational procedures and workflows to support metadata management in the metadata repository.o Support metadata distribution and usage across the enterprise.● Document source to target data mapping, transformations, and controls (time spent: 50%):o Extract data structure and data types stored in the current and proposed data base.o Create data dictionaries that specify data input/output formats.o Present the data dictionary to the Vice-President - Data Management & Business Intelligence, for approval.o Conduct meetings with stakeholders from various business functions and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to understand current business practices and their interactions with the current systems.o Gather and document shareholders’ feedback about current processes along with other identified improvement opportunities and present those to decision-makers to make the final decision regarding operational objectives.o Apply available advanced analytic tools to provide customized solutions to a variety of data investigations to minimize review time.o Identify and organize relevant documents using complex metadata filters and visualization tools.o Communicates technical concepts to non-technical audiences using multiple forms such as verbal and writteno Perform ETL (extract, transform, and load) to both processed and native files, in both structured and unstructured format. Well versed with data integration and transformation including ETL / ELT technologies and the automation of manual or semi-manual processes.● Proficient with data modeling, relational databases, and writing SQL queries as well as the use of Business Intelligence tools and reporting services (time spent: 20%).
