CurrentBfreeze is a unique Air-Conditioning technology that is driven by heat pump exhaust power, doubling the amount of cooling at very little additional power consumption. The COP of the system ranges from 6-12 depending on the lower limit of the temperature and the weather conditions; which is an improvement over the COP of 4 for sophisticated Air-Conditioners.Here are the tasks I have done with Bfreeze:• Commissioned and installed a food storage facility driven by Dew-Point cooling.• Equipped a fruit drying facility with waste-heat-driven chillers to drop the drying energy by 46%.• Overhauled a cookie factory’s exhaust to power dehumidification for snack storage.• Developed an HVAC lab with instrumented adsorption chillers, dew point chillers, and heat pumps.• Designed and developed solar-regenerated desiccant absorption chillers to achieve COP of 9.0.• Developed and licensed a novel M-Cycle cooler with a capital cost of $250/Ton and COP of 12.0.• Integrated Phase Change Material with Photovoltaic cells to increase power efficiency by 22%.• Conducted experimental testing for heat pump energy storage in Phase Change Materials.• Secured a research and development grant of $100K from the HULT Prize Foundation.• Brokered a $200K partnership with the World Bank for solar adsorption chillers.• Piloted indirect evaporative coolers in commercial buildings in different cities of Pakistan.• Supervised a thesis for the development of desiccant-convection food dehydrators.
