This includes over 400 airport traffic control towers, hundreds of radar and communications facilities, and a complex network of thousands of sites and more than 71,000 pieces of equipment that allow pilots to navigate, stay aware of changing weather conditions, and keep in constant contact with ground-based air traffic controllers. On average, about 50,000 flights carrying close to 2 million people use the National Airspace System (NAS) every day.

Major responsibilities include authorship of 4-Volume master contract specifications; oversight of LEED-accredited sustainable design; conducting plan, specifications and estimates (PS&E) review; utilities coordination and construction phasing issues.O'Hare Runway Designers, LLC (ORD, LLC) provided Lead Engineering Design Services for Runway 9L-27R, the first of the new runways of the O'Hare Modernization Program at O'Hare International Airport. Runway 9L-27R is a new 7,500 foot long, 150 foot wide, Group V-capable Cat II/III runway, which opened on November 20, 2008. The project included a parallel taxiway and associated high-speed exits, a runway and taxiway underdrain system, pavement markings and NAVAIDS systems. The project was executed while the airport remained at full operation.
