As a Shift In charge and Mechanical Engineer, I'm responsible for running of entire plant with optimum efficiency, preventing downtime and rising uptime by identifying and analyzing breakdown areas, and improving functionality. Monitoring shift operations, planning and authorizing works, engaging technicians and guiding shift engineers for conditional monitoring of plant, conducting toolbox talks to create an exchange of knowledge regarding safe work procedures, hazards and experiences inter-departmentally, thereby creating a safe and zero incident environment. Encouraging shift team to discuss identified frequent breakdown areas, reducing downtime with needed modifications and innovations. Allotment of manpower and required equipment for their respective departmental works, monitoring engineers for performing preventive maintenance checks and preparing reports of all the activities, observations and incidents.
