Namastey! 🙏I am a Fisheries Scientist with a passion for all things fishy. From studying fish to fisheries resource management, I have done it all. I have spent years swimming through the fisheries field and it has been nothing short of a wild ride. My diverse background in teaching freshwater fisheries, managing aquaculture and breeding program, consultation in government fisheries project, socio-economic initiatives with fishermen, and finally research has allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of fisheries resource management and to keep up with the ever-changing tides of the industry. Currently, I am conducting research at AZTI in Spain, where I am exploring the use of environmental DNA (eDNA) in fisheries ecology. This innovative tool has the potential to revolutionize the way we study and manage our aquatic ecosystems. I am excited to be at the forefront of this rapidly evolving field and to contribute to its growth.As a Scientist at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and in my previous positions, I had the opportunity to collaborate with different government agencies, NGOs, fisheries cooperative societies, and leading organizations to implement sustainable fisheries practices. This has further solidified my belief in the power of collaboration and the need for a holistic approach towards protecting our rivers, estuaries, and oceans.I firmly believe that sustainable practices are the key to preserving our aquatic environments for future generations. I am always on the lookout for innovative solutions to achieve this goal. 💡
