Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) is a technology-driven USD 11.7 billion company.L&T has set up a steel melting shop & forge shop at Hazira to manufacture special steels and heavy forgings for nuclear, petrochemicals and power sector.Key deliverablesReceipt inspection of materials like Ingots, Steel Making Raw materials, plates, pipes, of various profiles as per various standards with respect to approved purchase order, approved drawings, applicable Code & Standards. Preparation of Quality control Plan in line with specification and Code / Standard requirements and obtain customer /client approval for their Hold, Witness or Surveillance check points, Preparation of detailed Inspection Procedures, etc.Surveillance during Forging process and Heat treatmentVerification of Dimensional accuracy as per the applicable toleranceRaising Non Conformity Report and resolving the same Co-ordinating with Customer representatives & various Third Party Inspection agencies like LRA, TUV, BV,IBR etcFinal Inspection of job after forging and machining ( Visual & Dimensional )Preparation of Manufacturer’s Data Report as per ASME code and other applicable codesPreparation and compiling of Final Documentation Key role in documentation and internal audit for ISO and ASME certificationsOther project related activitiesSetting up of quality testing laboratories with latest testing facility for the Special steels and Heavy forging plantSuccessful erection and commissioning and calibration of all equipments in laboratoriesSetting up of various inspection and testing facilities for steel melt shop and heavy forgings Installation and commissioning of Radioactive detection system for scanning of scrap material for radioactive contamination sourceDevelopment of inspection systems and procedures as per requirement of nuclear industry and compliance to ASME codesDevelopment of SOP for various inspection and testing facilities
