Application Engineer
Current• Provided timely and innovative technical assistance to customers by designing cost-effective precision spindle and slide proposals, quoting over 165 custom solutions, which resulted in $680K in product orders. • Managed the entire RFQ and project lifecycle using Salesforce and EPICOR ERP software, integrating technical, cost, and safety considerations to ensure compliance with customer requirements, meeting aggressive timelines for schedule, cost, and quality. • Represented and promoted SETCO during customer visits, exhibitions, and plant tours, providing technical support and sales assistance at customer facilities, which helped build trust, win new orders, and strengthen customer relationships. • Developed 3D and 2D assembly proposal drawings for spindles (belt-driven, motorized, gear-driven) and slides (dovetail, hardened way, linear recirculating ballscrew) using CREO, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD for applications in robotics, aerospace, friction stir welding, engine machining, stone cutting, and medical devices. • Conducted structural and modal analysis on spindles using ANSYS FEA software to evaluate shaft transmissibility and resonance, reducing spindle failures and improving overall spindle efficiency. • Collaborated in supplier selection and qualification processes, assessing potential suppliers on quality, cost, and delivery performance, which resulted in 20% cost savings, 25% reduction in lead times, and improved product quality through effective evaluation and negotiation. • Collaborated with cross-functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Assembly, Inspection, Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations, and Sales) to develop new products, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
