Karnataka, India

Responsible for overseeing the India EHS operations of a manufacturing facility spanning over 30+ acres and employing a workforce of 1900+ employees across 2 plants & R &D facilities.Key responsibilities:• Developing and implementing the Company and Department Safety Environment Hoshin (Policy) to align with Toyota's 2030 vision.• Participating in and presenting Hoshin and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) progress at global meetings held every two months in different countries.• Planning the Safety Environment budget for the upcoming year, as well as controlling the budget and implementing cost-saving activities and Kaizen initiatives.• Conducting monthly department-wise shop floor evaluations using a prepared checklist and presenting the findings during the Monthly Safety Environment meeting.• Providing induction safety training to new employees through the Safety Dojo program.• Developing and implementing random inspection systems for work permits, layout standardization, and WIRA.• Conducting various training programs, including Dojo training, fire fighting, first aid, rescue operations, electrical safety, and more.• Investigating accidents and near misses using root cause analysis techniques such as the 5 Whys and Fishbone tool, and ensuring continuous follow-up until countermeasures are implemented.• Establishing and maintaining Emergency Response Preparedness (ERT) setups in all shifts and providing continuous training to keep the team updated.• Working towards achieving safety and environmental targets set by the corporate office.• Coordinating with external agencies and competent persons for testing and inspection of equipment such as LPG bullet tanks, boilers, overhead cranes, pressure vessels, compressors, and lifting machines.• Managing waste management, including hazardous waste and e-waste, and conducting monthly monitoring for various environmental parameters such as STP, air, water, illumination, noise levels, and stack emissions.

• Regularly conducting Plant safety inspections/ checklists/ Safety walks/ Audits.• To ensure good housekeeping in Plant area, Right quality of PPE being supplied and USED.• Reporting unsafe conditions/acts of Workers.
