Juan Mullerat is the Principal and Founder of Plusurbia Design, a firm specializing in value-added contextual design methods that enhance urban spaces' social, economic, and environmental aspects. With over 25 years of experience in architecture and urban design, Mullerat has successfully led and collaborated on numerous revitalization projects worldwide. Some notable examples include the Wynwood Master Plan, Little Havana Revitalization Master Plan, various Transit Oriented Developments, Complete Streets and Districts projects, and Comprehensive Vision Plans.Mullerat holds dual Masters in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami School of Architecture, sits on the Advisory board of USF's MURP program, and serves as Vice President of Section Affairs for the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association.With a profound passion for creating vibrant, inclusive communities that embrace local culture and context, Mullerat frequently lectures and publishes on urban revitalization, place-making, healthy design, zoning, form-based codes, transportation corridors, and safe streets. He has shared his expertise at renowned conferences, events, and universities, including Miami, Harvard, UNCC, the ULI, and the APA. Spanning four continents, his practice engages in urban interventions, comprehensive plans, revitalization initiatives, and context-sensitive architectural standards and designs in both the private and public sectors.
